New Ideas and New Projects. Where to start.

Been a bit of a busy week on the whole. None Rallyist related activities have dominated, but I am hopeful of getting back in the groove very soon. Which is fortunate, as over the week I have had just enough time to 'ponder' a couple of shall we say variations of earlier projects with I think, exciting potential. Those little grey cells seem to respond well to the stimulus of particularly good Buffalo Burgers purchased from Heskin Hall last weekend.

Yes, Pure Racing game is back on the menu continuing development, with ongoing changes with respect to Game play. Well perhaps more Tweaks rather than changes. But It has to be right. Then there was also an issue around scale. The original concept focused on the use of 1/43 scale cars (Onyx - Minichamps - Quartz). Driven in no small part by my collection of 70's F1 cars. However the size of the cars requires a suitable Game footprint. Noting also I have been using 70's cars as reference, not the current monster 2020's F1. The above prototype is a the track for 1/64scale. I also have a set of three Red Bull F1 cars in that scale, bought of course, for the purpose of research. The cars pictured started life as a Christmas present for my sons long ago, and it was creating a hand drawn game for them on a cardboard box from ASDA that ultimately became Pure Racing. Also worth noting at this stage is the Prototype is Vinyl, ideally I really want printed matting.

And while we're on the subject of scale why not 1/24 and 1/18?
A 1/18th scale Club version. Now that is a thought!!!!
What about a Rally Stage. A Rally Stage? .... A Rally Stage! I do have a rather large amount of Scalextric in the loft. Bought for my sons and held in storage for my Grandson, you understand, when I get one. If I ever get the room I would like to build a model rally stage with it. In the mean time however ...
Could I create a Rally stage in the same format as my racing game for 1/43 scale rally cars. I think yes. Fact is, with the right level of artistry it could see the cars drifting through the corners with plenty of opposite lock, maybe a hint of a Scandinavian flick?
The Artwork for the layout is first on the list. Thanks the 'Pure Racing' the basic game play is pretty well sorted. Staying as we will with the simple 9 Basic Game Rules. We need a Prototype? ASAP
I also need a name for a single stage event ... What about Rally Sprint? Oh yes, did I say? I took the liberty of buying a 1/43 scale Rally Saxo, again for the purpose of research, ideally a Chevette 2300 HS would have been more to my taste .... I'll save that for the promo photos.

If anyone wishes to get involved with Rally Sprint: The Game or for that matter Pure Racing, as a Backer, Sponsor, Manufacturer, Sales or would like to see this game sporting their logo, please get in touch.
Alternatively I am planning Presales of Rallyist 350 SLE to support this project along with The Rallyist Art Commission Vouchers. The sales will also support the Touring version of the Rallyist Virtual Motorsport Art Gallery.
Details will be in the following Blog (part 2) update.
